Here is a short video I took the other day of the birds playing in our forest. When we walk over to Linwood park the birds often ask,
"Are we going to our forest, or a different forest, or the playground part?"
Most frequently we go to our forest. Its a cluster of 4 or 5 pine trees in a field. The trees are great for climbing, it feels like we're hiding, we lay down blankets and read and have snacks, it smells yummy like earth and pine, there are lots of things to collect and study, and there is a gentle, undescribable freedom in that space. It is a comfort zone for all of us, as we have been going to our forest since opening week at 3LB. Everyone relaxes when we are there. We usually do a little bit of everything, and a little bit of nothing. This clip shows you what I mean. Nothing is really happening, which is exactly why it's so perfect in our forest.
