Melting.
These pictures might not look like much, but exciting things are happening this week during our outside time. Melting. Sunshine. Warmth. Tiny bits of spring feelings. What this means for little birds is lots of puddles, rivers, lakes, ice and snow. Some wonderful and exciting elements for preschoolers.
We love to salt the sidewalk. We love to chip away at snow or ice with hammers, sticks, and shovels. We love finding rivers of water and floating sticks and leaves. We love finding toys and shovels that are buried and/or frozen and attempting to dig them out. We love going for walks. We love races down the sidewalk. We love all this extra time outside and not being frozen! We love spotting patches of grass. Grass! Oh yes, and we love leaving treasures (mostly sidewalk salt and pine cones) for the little gnome that lives in a hole in the snow. Mama Ara saw him earlier this week, and we all hope to see him soon!
